The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our ship’s cleanliness, maintaining brand standards, and exceeding guest expectations in the staterooms. They lend support as needed and provide clear direction for the housekeepers. Servers are responsible for creating an excellent guest experience beyond serving by acknowledging guests by name, escorting them to their tables, as well as providing kind and efficient service. Sarah has been with American Cruise Lines since the American Melody’s inaugural cruise in 2021 as an Excursions Director and moved into the Regional Manager of Guest Programs role in 2023.

Once you have completed your time with us, we will help you with your travel arrangements to get you back home safely. Our home office is located in Guilford, CT with our sister office in Sandy, UT. Our ships travel throughout the East Coast, West Coast, Mississippi River, and Alaska.

When asked what she enjoys most about working with ACL she said, “My favorite part of my job has to be the people that I work with! Our dining room is available when it does not interfere with guest meal services. To keep in contact with family and friends, we offer free WiFi access while on board as available based on service quality. In order to assure that you are well rested enough to work the following day, we have implemented a strict 11 pm curfew for all crew members. Therefore, you must always be ready to take action in the event of an emergency. As a member of the crew you have direct impact on their overall cruise experience, not only taking care of their needs, but also helping them to make amazing memories.
Congratulations to our very own Kim Swartzenberg, who is a Senior Cruise Specialist in our Sandy, UT office. Kim started her journey with us 5 ½ years ago when our UT office first opened and has been a driving force within our sales team. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, she responded, “It’s hard to narrow down my favorite part of this job. There are few things better than hearing “I’ve always dreamed of doing something like this” and being a part of making that happen. The company is wonderful to work for and I leave every day feeling like I accomplished something.
One of the chefs on board will prepare food for all crew members at times that do not interfere with guest dining. Breakfast is made to order, while lunch and dinner are served buffet style. If at any point,you have a dietary request, we will do our best to accommodate you. Being on your feet for a majority of the day, our meals are created to supply you with all the essential nutrients needed to keep you healthy. If at any point you wanted to change your food choices, there is always the opportunity to eat on shore while we are in port. During your time off, we encourage you to take a break from your hard work and reward yourself.
Once assigned, we will arrange the flights and transportation to get you to the vessel. During your first day on board, we will introduce you to the other crew members, take you on a tour of the ship, and get you settled into your stateroom. They are responsible for creating a fun atmosphere on board while engaging guests at all times through a series of activities, shows, events, presentations and socializing throughout the cruise. American Cruise Lines headquarters are located on the shoreline of Connecticut in Guilford. Our second shoreside facility and primary training center are located in the Greater Salt Lake City area. These locations are occupied by our Sales, Customer Service, and Training departments.
