A plan was developed to add a grade each year until a school with N-K and grades 1-8 was established. In 1948, a new rector was called to the parish, and St. Matthew’s was in for a period of expansion and growth. The Reverend Lesley Wilder established a new mission in south San Mateo in 1950, now the Church of the Transfiguration.
